Hi there,

I'm still fairly new to PI, but I am getting more experienced with about 350 hours of time under my belt so I can follow complex instructions.

What is the best way to save and apply identical multiple processes to multiple image stacks to ensure uniformity.

My task:
This week I shot a full-arch Milky Way in a way that yielded me 28 stacked images, each made by stacking 10 x 6-second images in DSS. I now need to process one of these images in a suitable manner and then be able to save and apply the exact same set of processes to all the remaining stacks to ensure uniformity.

Can someone explain me which method would produce the best results, or can you direct me to a video or tutorial explaining how to do this?

Thanks very much,
Rudy

Hi,

I have not done this but I think the following applies.  You can create and save separate processes and then apply each process to each stack of images.  Or you can create an image container and then apply a process to the container.  There is also an option to create a container and then add the images and add various processes to the container and then apply.

I think Warren Keller's book "Inside PixInsight" might help or have a look at www.ip4ap.com

Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

If you have processed an image you can make a process container with all steps used in that image from the History explorer. Drag the New Instance triangle out to the workspace and there you have it. Now all you have to do is drop that process icon on any other image where you want those exact steps applied. You can also use that process icon with an image icon to automatically apply those steps to multiple images.  I did just that with 864 images for a small video of the Perseid Meteor shower a few years back. https://www.astrobin.com/201725 .
