Hi!
Never had a go at this object before, but as clear skies have recently coincided with near full moon I needed to shoot a region with a lot of ionized hydrogen, so I decided to try the beautiful Rosette. I shot the exposures during a cold spell in January and February with temperatures dropping as low as -25C, so I practically didn't need to cool the ccd at all. Spent some time with HDRWCompose trying to fix saturated stars, but I think I didn't plan the exposures well enough and they ended up exceedingly difficult to combine, so I finally gave up and published with saturated stars all the same.

Shot from Bjarkebu Observatory near Ytre Enebakk/Norway over several days in January and February 2018.
Also my neighbor the wolf seems to have returned. Saw fresh tracks when leaving the observatory in the forest at 05 in the morning but unlike last time, I heard no howling. Shooting from an observatory deep in the woods certainly has its charms.
