deconvolution masks

I've been building a deranging support mask with AdvStarmask tool which seems to work fine.  In terms of a general starmask to protect the bright nebulosity and background (and just reveal the stars); for deconvolution to I build a starmask from a non-linear clone?

Any techniques would be appreciated.  In this case I am deconvolving an Ha master in the linear state.

You can actually build a decent deringing starmask from the linear image. Just start with the default settings. Sometimes I have to lower the noise threshold to 0.08 and increase the number of layers to 6. I always decrease the blurring of the mask from its default value of 16, but those are minor tweaks.
