HDR image display problem
« on: 2018 February 20 11:16:24 »
Hello everyone,

Could anyone tell me what is causing the purple circle at the center of M31 in this HDR image?  I have reprocessed it several times, and have changed the STF display to 24 bit LUT, to no avail.  Any advice much appreciated!

dslr image? processed as RGB?

it may help to split the various masters into R/G/B and do HDRComposition on them separately so that you can adjust the binarizing threshold per-channel.

Thanks Rob,

And yes, Canon 6D and RGB.  The strange thing is that I didn't have the problem the first time around.  The HDR image the first time was composed of 10s, 30s, 2m, 10m, and 20m subs.  I integrated the 5 masters into an HDR image and did not have this problem.  But I felt that I was throwing away a lot of data from the 80 ten minute subs using this method, so second time around I combined the 10m and 20m subs into one master, and the 10s and 30s subs into another.  This left me with 3 masters.  The 10/20m, the 2m, and the 10/30s.  It is when I integrated these into an HDR image that the artifact appeared, so I assume they are related.  But I don't understand how.
