Documentation on Process Containers
« on: 2018 February 18 21:22:11 »
I'd like to use Process Containers but have found absolutely no documentation on how to use them. Can someone point me to any documentation how to use Process Containers?
Thanks,
Jeff

Here's a good place to start. The process container is a very simple tool and can be saved in the same way as a process icon. The history explorer for an image is another example of a process icon.

msmythers has already pointed out the documentation. I'll also add that I use ProcessContainer along with ImageContainer for time lapse editing frequently. Right click any where in the PixInsight desktop, and you'll see the option of creating an ImageContainer. Add all your input images, specify an Output Directory, and then "apply" the ImageContainer to the ProcessContainer with all your processes.

Thanks, Mike, Bonzo-,
That looks really useful, although unfortunately I was looking to automate Image/Geometry/Vertical Mirror which is not, apparently an actual process.  I was going to try automating modification of 107 old images that need Vertical Mirror in order for Star Alignment to work properly on them so the registered images then match images from my newer camera.

Vertical mirror and the other geometry selections are actually a process tool, FastRotation. They are just included in the menu as a quick method of using them the same as Color Spaces, Extract and so on. Geometry can be added to the toolbar also.

Fantastic.  That definitely will do the trick.  "FastRotation" didn't come up on the pull-down menu but it is in the Process Explorer. I guess most, if not all, PI actions are actually processes that can be automated way.  At least I'll eventually be trying that.
Thanks.
