I created the masters BIAS, DARK, FLAT feeding the Script->BatchPreprocessing with the .fits files which I have generated with SGP.

Then I am using Script->BatchPreprocessing again to align, calibrate .. the lights (so far, this should be a common way ?)
Enabled the click-boxes "Use master bias" , "Use master dark", "Use master flat", "Optimize dark frames"

As far as I read and believe to understand image calibration for PI in general :

The BIAS should be applied to the DARK... This is displayed in the Process Console -> "Applying bias correction: master dark frame ..." (This looks O.K. for me)

The Bias and DARK should also be applied also to the FLAT.... But I am unsure if the messages below the line "Dark frame optimization thresholds:" are explaining that the BIAS AND DARK applied to the FLATS ?

Process Console Messages
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Applying bias correction: master dark frame ...

Dark frame optimization thresholds:
Td0 = 0.00019155 (22665 px = 0.272%)
Computing master flat scaling factors ...
s0 = 0.337664

Calibration of 3 target frames:
* Using 3 worker threads

Calibrating target frame 1 of 3
Loading target frame:
....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I am right the dark frame scaling factor is the factor from the longer exposure time of the master dark to match the FLAT exposure time, but I am still unsure if BIAS and "downscaled DARK" is apllied to the FLAT.

I hope someone can help me with this, please feel free to correct me, if I am wrong.

Edit: I checked the fits header of the MasterFLAT and could not find any ExposureTime Key , so I am wondering how  "Optimize dark frames"  calculates the scaling .

Regarding to http://www.pixinsight.com/tutorials/master-frames/

Conclusion

PixInsight's tools usually require different acquisition and processing methods. Although we will have a master frame generation tool in the near future, the ImageCalibration tool works better with the acquisition methodology that we have described. The same methodology will be necessary with the future master frame generation tool.

Any information's when this is ready ?

Hi Thomas, assuming you calibrated your flats before integrating them into a master flat(s), the script sees that a master flat is being used and doesn't and shouldn't recalibrate it. If individual flats were used, you're correct, they w/b bias/dark calibrated and optimized before being integrated and divided into the individual lights. Hope that's clear!
Best always, Warren
