Integrating a lot of images
« on: 2017 November 16 03:26:44 »
Hello

I have a batch of 1000 monochrome subs to integrate, but if I try to integrate more than about 256 images the computer begins to swap and slows down the proces a lot.

Is there any drawback in doing 4 integrations of 250 subs each and then integrate the four results in a final image? If doing winsorized sigma clipping in each of 4 integrations, do I need to run the final integration with pixel rejection too?

What about the drizzle integration in this case?

Best regards and thak you for your advises.

with that many subs the 4 masters should be very clean and no further rejection should be necessary when integrating those 4. i think you will be fine with the flow you have proposed.

You can try to reduce the "BufferSize" parameter from 16MB to a smaller value. Playing with the "Stack Size" parameter could also help. Both have a quite detailed tooltip.

Thank you all. I will try both ways.

Best regards.
