More Memory vs Faster Memory?

This probably sounds like a first-world problem, but in configuring a new workstation for image processing, I can choose between 64 gigs DDR4 2400 RAM or 32 Gigs DDR4 2667 RAM. Any recommendations? 😀

Just my two cents but I would go for more memory. That would give you plenty to use for a ram disk maybe for your PI swap folders or just more overhead for anything else running in the background. I would think it might be hard to quantify how much of a difference the different memory speeds would mean to PI.

Hi,
Faster memory is great, but you are talking about a few nano-seconds. More memory will be a save many more seconds/minutes during processing.

Thanks! That’s the conclusion I came to also. Ordered the machine yesterday and it’s scheduled to arrive the 18th. Can’t wait to try it on my stacks!
