Light Calibration
« on: 2017 October 09 13:05:28 »
Hi,

I just want to be sure if I am using the right process.

I figure there are six steps in pre-processing:

[1] integrate biases, integrate darks
[2] calibrate flats - remove bias and dark out of the flats
[3] integrate flats
[4] calibrate lights, get dark, bias and flat out of them
[5] align lights
[6] integrate lights

Since in step 2 when flats cleaned of biases and darks, then in step 4 when lights are calibrated against biases and darks, the calibration of flats should be kept unchecked. Is this correct?

Thanks

that is correct. if the master flat is precalibrated, then the master flat should not be calibrated at the time ImageCalibration is run on the light frames.

You might want to consider a step 4a Cosmetic Correction, especially if you are scaling darks and/or don't have well dithered light frames.

and if you are imaging with a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) or a one-shot color (OSC) camera, you have to debayer just before aligning the images.
