Pixinsight 1.8.5 debayer fails to auto detect matrix
« on: 2017 September 24 16:15:35 »
Prior versions of PI had no issues, but the current version does not auto detect my RGGB color matrix when debayering.  In addition, I found that the Batch Preprocessing script fails as well. In this case, I only receive the message that PI stopped working and I have to close PI.  When I manually force the matrix, everything works fine. The problem exists with both my Canon T3 and ZWO 224MC.

Regards,

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

If this happens with FITS files, then this is the expected behavior, since FITS provides no standard way to store information on CFA patterns. In such case you have to select the appropriate CFA pattern manually. Please see the link Bernd has posted for a more elaborate discussion.

If this happens with DSLR raw files, then this problem cannot be reproduced on any platform. Automatic CFA pattern detection works without problems with DSLR raw files.

This cannot be reproduced either, on any of our working and testing machines, on any platform. Can you provide more information, and/or a data set where this can be reproduced?

It happened with fits files.  I was using SGP and it saves in fits.  Normally, I save in raw.

Thanks,
