PixInsight Window Focus
« on: 2017 October 06 22:34:44 »
When opening an image window, PixInsight doesn't give focus to the new window. So if you have a bunch of image "Views", and you try to save them, You might find that all the saved versions have the same image. Please look at the attached files. the first "PI_BeforeClick1.jpg" shows PixInsight prior to my restoring an image window. The next file "PI_AfterClick1.jpg" shows PixInsight after I click the square box to "restore" an image. Notice that the restored image does not have the focus. So when I choose "File/Save As" from the menu, the wrong file gets saved. Totally Counter-Intuitive.

My system is running Microsoft Windows 10 (version 1703) and PI version "01.08.05.1583 Ripley (x64)".  When you restore a window it should have the focus.

I must confess that the latest version is awesome, can't live without it!

I cannot reproduce this. Newly opened images are correctly activated and focused on all of our working and testing machines, on all platforms.

This works this way by design. This allows you to restore a shaded image window and shade it again without activating it, which is useful when you are working on an image and just want to inspect another one, but without changing the current active image window. Bear in mind that changing the active image window has many implications in PixInsight, such as changing the image being tracked by tool windows with enabled 'track view' options, inspectors and explorers.

To restore a shaded image window and active it in a single operation, double click on its title bar instead of clicking the unshade button. You can also right-click on a title bar and select 'Unshade' from the context menu.
