I am sure this has been covered before but I am confused. I am a newbie and would appreciate any help/recommendations.
I have a OSC ZWO ASI1600MC-COOL camera. I use Sequence Generator Pro (SGP) to down load the images. I use Pixinsight
software to process the images.

From searching the web, I am confused as to the correct DeBrayer Matrix to use. I believe that ZWO says the matrix should
be GRBG but I have read several conflicting reports. I am not sure if SGPro is downloading the image in the correct method
so that the Debrayer matrix is GRBG or a different matrix is required.

I have tried different matrices but I am not sure which is correct being a newbie. I am having trouble bring out the color.
Is there any way using pixinsight to determine the correct debrayer matrix?

Thanks for any help

Brent

Hi Brent - I'll give you a clue. Search the PixInsight Forum for DeBayer or CFA, especially posts from me. I have discussed and described this subject in quite some detail over the past few weeks.

Try https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?action=search2
and use the parameters shown in the attachment below.

The task is not difficult, but it is confused by the plethora of posts made by others who have perhaps not fully understood the issues at hand.

And, remember (as I have discussed), you should not expect a full-colour astronomical image at the start of your post-processing tasks, just because you have now completed the pre-processing stages.
