1.8.5 on Mac OSX 10.11.6 - Script I/O errors
« on: 2017 August 05 00:59:07 »
I have noticed a few of the scripts generate a "File i/o error:unable to open file:permission denied" either when invoked or during a regeneration

This only applies to Propagate Previews, Star Reduction, Star Trails Blending, DNA Linear Fit and Write .jpg with Size Constraints. I have checked the permission flags on these and they look to be the same as other scripts that do work.

Any ideas?

Chris

Hi Chris,

I cannot reproduce this problem on any of our working macOS machines. All standard scripts, including PropagatePreviews, run without problems. The other scripts you mention are not part of the standard distribution, but I can run hundreds of nonstandard scripts (our development toolchain is strongly dependent on JavaScript scripts running on PixInsight) on all platforms without problems.

Can this be a file permissions issue, or an installation problem?

Hi Juan

I thought I did a complete uninstall and power off but for some reason the pixinsight.com.ar repository stayed in the list. The error is indeed with these non-standard scripts (Propagate Previews V2 not the default one) and a fresh clean install with just the default repositories works without error.

Thanks for the response

Chris
