A very interesting topic on a Dutch forum discussed the impact of the white balance (or Pure RAW) setting in PixInsight on the calibration process. It seems the default setting is 'Automatic white balance' and this impacts calibration.
I think it's safe to say this is highly undesirable!

So basically I'm wondering;
1. Where/when is this setting in PI used? Is it used in the Batch Preprocessing script?
2. If it indeed used in PI processes; Why is the default setting 'Automatic white balance'??

I think I can safely answer the first question after some tests; Seems Batch Preprocessing is overruling these settings (luckily).
Still curious where it actually will be used though... (and why?!)

the default settings for how DSLR files are handled are in the "DSLR_RAW" format explorer.

any process that can use "format hints" (like ImageIntegration or ImageCalibration) can override the settings in DSLR_RAW. this is how BatchPreProcessing overrides the settings in DSLR_RAW to be correct for calibration of DSLR images.
