DynamicAlignment on many subs
« on: 2016 July 10 04:20:16 »
I was just wondering if there is a way to 'save' the stars chosen in the reference image so to more easy use DynamicAlignment on multiple images.
Right now I seem to have to close the process before I can use it again on the next sub and need to start all over picking stars. I suspect I might be overlooking things?

You may have figured this out already by yourself, but here goes:
In DynamicAlignment have two images open: source and target.
Select stars in the source and corresponding stars in target.
Before you do the registration, you drag an instance of the process onto the workspace (little triangle in the bottom).
Then do the registration, save and close the registered image and close the target. Close the process, but do not delete the icon you created.
Open a new target and open the process icon on the workspace. The target should be the image you open last. Check that the right stars are marked in the target, and register.
Do this for every image.
Personally I have never bothered to use DynamicAlignment for more than a few images. When I have images that StarAlignment won't parse, I have adjusted the noise reduction and hot pixel parameters, until it worked.

Hope this helped you,
Wim
