Managing repositories
« on: 2016 July 17 00:44:05 »
I have been reviewing tutorials on many subjects and recently found reference to a script that will create a mask based on color. I checked my scripts in the utility section and that script was not available. It is described as a utility "under development" and will not be updated unless the manage repository options include development scripts. The syntax seems to have changed since the original tutorials and I can find no current reference to the proper syntax for automatically updating the development scripts as well as PixInsight and Docs (PI and Docs are included in the update options).

Please point me in the right direction.

Here is the posting of the Color Mask Script.

Also in the same posting is a link to a video showing how to add the script into PixInisght.

Mike,

Thanks for that info but my post has more to do with the automatic updating all of the scripts rather than with installing that particular script. When I start PI it usually checks for updated for the application and documentation. An early tutorial showed how to automatically check for updates for scripts. The early tutorial has a different syntax for checking than the current PI application. In particular, I use the Batch Preprocessing Script regularly. I want to be sure that when I start PI it checks for the latest version.

Thanks,

Frank

Further information on the subject. The early tutorials are now called PixInsight Foundations. The first one showing how to use the Batch Preprocessing Scripts describes adding "http://update-devel.pixinsight.com/" to the Manage Repository options. In the current Manage Repository options the syntax is:"https://pixinsight.com/update/".

What is the correct syntax to add the development script updates?

TIA

Frank

Alejandro,

Thanks! That was the info I needed.

However, I now get this error message:
https://pixinsight.com.ar/repository/: Network error: SSL: certificate verification failed (result: 5)

Is it a security setting in my MBP?

Frank
