Title: June 2011 Astrophotography Contest Winners

First of all we want to say a big THANKS to all the participants in the June 2011 PixInsight Astrophotography Monthly Contest. All the images are great and we are honored with your participation. This is the first issue of this contest and it has been a success. We are absolutely glad and hope everybody will continue enjoying successive contest editions.

Now, congratulations to the winners! According to the contest rules (http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=3098.0), we have three winners because there have been ten or more participants. These have been the most voted images (click on the images to see the original versions):

Finally, the contest organizers also want to include the fourth most voted image in this announcement. We feel most of us have had a hard time deciding our votes due to the quality of participating works, so we think the next image deserves a special mention.

Congratulations and a very special greeting for the winners, and more than thankyou for the special mention of NGC 5128, now I can say that it was veeery difficult and I re-process it a lot of times.

It was a pleasure to participate and very interesting to share and learn from others experiences and how each one use and understand PixInsight.

Quiero felicitar también a los demás participantes, y a los moderadores del foro por la iniciativa de armar este concurso, que nos permite aprender más y mejores herramientas de este maravilloso soft. Y además nos incentiva a seguir mejorando la calidad de nuestros trabajos.
Espero poder participar en futuras ediciones.

It was thrilling to be a part of a competition with so much beautiful work. How fitting that Leonardo's gorgeous portrait appeared on APOD during the competition, and that Stephen had yet another stunning galaxy image pop up on APOD just days ago! Given the community that is the PixInsight forum, there is much to look forward to in future editions of the monthly contest.
