Title: Color Calibration Background Mask does not see background
Post by: georg.viehoever on 2010 February 03 11:30:28
Hi,

I am using ColorCalibration, and I just cannot get it to use my background image. As seen in the screenshot, I have set LowerLimit to 0 and HigherLimit to 1.0, so I would expect the background reference mask to be fully white. Which obviously it is not...

Hi Georg,

To say something useful I'd need to have a look at the image. Could you upload it, or a significant crop of it?

Hi Juan,

I uploaded example files for you yesterday evening. Good luck with tracking down the issue.

Hi Georg,

This is to inform you that I have fixed this bug. The ColorCalibration module will always output correct background masks in the next version.

Note that this bug only affects background mask generation; mean background values are correctly calculated. As a workaround, simply enter a high background value slightly above the median of the background reference image, and don't trust background masks if your image has very weak signal levels.

Thank you for your invaluable help.
