I would be nice to have blink function to page through a set images or views

Max,
you can do a single image blink with pixelmath. The expression is simply one of the image identifiers that you then apply to the other image. Then Ctrl-Z Ctrl-Y back and forth.

Hi all,
I think it would be better implemented as a 'slideshow/sorter' process - where you can shimmy back and forth through a selection of images - 'scoring' them as needed, moving 'good ones' to a different repository, pre-pending or suffixing extra elements to their filenames as needed, same for 'mediocre' and 'rubbish' frames.
Better still would be the ability to 'freeze' one image from the selection, to be used as a 'blink-comparator' for other images - with the ability to change the 'reference' image at will, with a nice GUI that can be controlled either by mouse-clicks or, often easier, from the keyboard.
At present I still use AIP4WIN to achieve this, just as I have to do to get an 'inspectable' all-of-image, all-of-image-series data list - which I then unfortunately have to subsequently import into MS Excel for detailed analysis.
It would be great to be able to 'sort', 'grade', 'classify', 'blink', 'graph', 'rename' all from one environment, such as PI.
As always, food for thought . . .

I use DeepSkyStacker for grading my images and discarding the unwanted ones so I guess I never saw the need for it in PI.

Hi Sander,
Same here - I use DSS and AIP4WIN as well, neither does the job 'entirely' the way I want them to - although they can both 'do' the job. The 'slideshow' feature in IRIS (free) can also be useful.
Long-term, I would love to see PI being able to provide the same features, 'native' - that way we, the users, can get to mould how the GUI works.
Cheers,

Something I would find useful would be the following;
1) Specify a list of say 30 subs.
2) Apply a histogram stretch and clip to all of them....including the Histograms ability to bring the three medians together....just for inspection purposes.
3) Be able to click NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons to inspect them all for unwanted defects, etc.
4) A DELETE button to delete the unwanted subs.
I could imagine a more advanced version that would give a readout of the present image's median, FWHM, etc.
Just a thought.
Cheers
