Title: Double Click in XISF-file starts PI installer
Post by: Ruediger on 2020 February 14 07:36:09
Hello all,

I am suffering from a nasty problem started with 1.8.8-4 (Win10, Intel CPU, AMD GPU)

When double clicking any .xisf in explorer the PI installer is triggered and does some background activity (see screenshot).
After finishing PI opens the .xisf file, but PI itself is downgraded to 1.8.8-3.
All update downloads are offered again. Downloading and installing them starts the problem over and over again. It is a vicious cycle.

Thank you in advance!

Strange. According to Juan, this issue should be fixed already, see https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=14665 , reply #2.

Hello,

same thing for me if I try to double-click on an .xpsm, .xisf or .xosm file. Worked perfectly with older versions of Pixinsight, I used to open directly my favorite .xosm file.
Fits files are ok

In this example, I try to open "perso.xpsm" ant the installer wait for 1.8.8-3 version.

I use Windows 10 - Pixinsight 1.8.8-4, both up to date

Nothing serious but I take this opportunity to testify

Thanks :)
