I have updated Pix to 1.8.8-4 on MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 and have been using it with no problems. Yesterday, working on an image, I used the keyboard shortcut 'alt n' to create a new preview and it doesn't do anything, and if I go to the preview window, New preview, I get a dialogue asking for name/coordinates/size.
If I fill in the dialogue name, ie prev01 and apply it creates a preview at the top left. If I then try to modify the preview to move it to where I need it, I am just presented with the dialogue box again.
Have I inadvertently changed something that has disabled keyboard shortcuts?
Also, I think I read somewhere a while ago about an overall problem with some of the Apple keyboard shortcuts with PixInsight. Is this still the case, and is there somewhere I can get a list of shortcuts that do work.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

An update. I found a thread from August 2018 that suggests the path: Image/Mode/New Preview and this works OK.
I am using a Mac compact keyboard but have been using it for the last three years with PixInsight with no problems whatsoever.
At least I can get by now, albeit a bit cumbersome!
Still listening . . .

Another update
I have also tried this using an older usb Apple keyboard with numeric keypad and alt-N still does not work.

I also use MacOS and 'alt n' never used to work for me either, but it seems to be OK with the latest version.......I always use the icon 'New Preview Mode' as I have got into the habit.....its just as quick.

I have just solved the problem . . . well, it works for me anyways
I am working on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) with a bluetooth compact keyboard (no numeric keypad) and tried the key combination fn alt N (or fn option n) and it works fine!

apple keyboards can definitely be weird... i use a sun keyboard on my desktop machine and the new preview shortcut does seem to work. i think thouugh that i usually use the toolbar button by force of habit.

There is no bug here. This is just how Apple compact keyboards work: Fn must be used along with Alt key combinations.
