Title: Translucent frames
Post by: acmalko on 2019 May 06 03:48:56

Hi all :)

Does anyone know what happened to my SubframeSelector and PhotometricColorCalibration processes ?
All worked fine but suddenly, the graph's frames appeared much more translucent, too much for an easy read.

I don't know wich parameter should I change or what way should I go.

Many thanks

To disable window translucency:

- Click the window icon (to the left side of the title bar (right side on macOS) by default).

- Select the 'Translucency' menu item to disable this feature for the selected window.

Great, thank you for this first advice.

But, I've seen the 'Translucency' menu item, have disabled it and I don't see any difference

I have all my processes with Translucency mode ON and no problem. I see correctly the difference when I activate/deactivate it.

Do I need to restart Pixinsight ? I don't think so.

For this two particular frames, it's far more translucent and I hope you are able to see it on my capture screen :)

Some news:

a fresh installation (CTRL+Left mouse button) has changed nothing

I just have an idea.

I've installed the Intel HD4600 graphics driver (core I5 4690K) but I use an MSI GTX970 graphics card.
Almost sure this is the problem. I will check this soon

Bad idea, nothing changed uninstalling Intel graphics driver

Solved !

The guilty was'nt the Intel Graphics Driver newly installed but the Nvidia Graphics Driver, also newly updated.

Connecting my screen on the DVI plug managed by the Intel driver make the frame visible again.
Note that "translucent" parameter doesn't work with the graph frame of SubframeSelector. With file list and formula frame, it's ok but with the graphical one, clicking/moving the frame does'nt change anything.

Finally, problem with MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G graphic card and Nvidia Graphic driver v430.39

Many thanks Juan and the Pixinsight's team for your job, hunting bugs is not an easy task and need a lot of time.

Today, with the v1.8.8-3, my bug was solved so it probably was an openGL bug with my MSI GTX970 card and its driver or the effect of manual desintallation

No more unreadables translucents frames  ;D
