I downloaded and installed a new trail of PixInsight about a week ago but when I try to start it I get a message stating "Authentication error. The server says: 'EXPIRED LICENSE'". I sent an e-mail to PixInsight about this and have been waiting for a response but they haven't replied. So I'm looking for any help at this point.
Now, I did have a trial license about a year ago which I was unable to use due to medical issues. I uninstalled that PixInsight instance before I installed the new one. But I get this message now each time I try to start. How do I clear this? And now am I wasting time on the new trial or does the clock only start once PixInsight actually opens? Appreciate any help.

not absolutely sure of this but the license probably is expired. i don't think the clock starts when you use the license for the first time, i think it starts ticking when it is created.

Trial License
You can try out the PixInsight Platform at no charge for 45 days. This allows you to test our software out and experience the same power and flexibility as commercial users. During the 45-day trial period, you'll be eligible for email support and online software updates.
Our trial license grants you access to a full-featured, fully functional version of the PixInsight platform. You don't have to worry about watermarks in saved images, limited image dimensions, disabled program features and similar restrictions imposed by other softwares. What you try out is exactly the same product that you can purchase later.

Just to be clear, I did get a new trial and was granted the trial license from PixInsight. They sent me the trial license but I can't get it to start. When I try to start it, I get the "LICENSE EXPIRED" message. So, at this point I'm stuck. I can't do anything.

Did you uninstall the original before installing the latest trial version? I would remove both and then try to reinstall the new version and see what happens.

Yes, I uninstalled even before I got the trial key. And then I uninstalled everything again and reinstalled again just to be sure. But I'm dead in the water at this point. And still no communication from them.

is this windows? unfortunately i have only ever used OSX and it's been so long that i don't remember how the trial license works - a real license is a file you put in your home directory. if the trial licence works similarly, then the old one might be hanging around. or perhaps there is something in the registry hanging around from the prior installation.
hopefully juan will see this and comment.

After the unistal, go to C/User/Name of your Laptop, PC and delete PixInsight license, and install again. This will work.
