Title: Problem with File Format
Post by: Hank on 2018 June 30 10:04:54
I had clear skies last night and decided to image M5 and I saved the images to an external hard drive.

I started processing them in Pixinsight this morning starting with "Blink". Next I moved on to "Sub-frame Selector" and ran into difficulties. See attached file.

Imaging Information: C11" with 6.3 focal reducer, SBIG STF8300C, Moonlight Focuser, The SkyXPro, all on a MtY mount. BTW, I set up The SkyXPro for FITS format.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing incorrectly?

couple of possibilities - one is that the external disk filled up and the fits file is corrupted. another is the presense of spaces in the filename. PI should be able to handle this but there are situations where it does not. could be related to the filesystem format on the external disk... is it NTFS or some other windows format?

Hi,

I think the problem is that the file name has two full stops.  Rename the file, with the only full stop just before the tiff extension.

Thanks, Rob and John.

Yes, it turns out that the spaces in the file name caused my problem. I removed them and now everything is working.
