Frequently, I find small blemishes in my nearly-completed images. Most recently when doing some narrow-band processing, the dozen brightest stars had color hot-spots a few pixels wide in there centers. It would be very convenient to have a tool akin to the "smudge" tool of Gimp to smooth those out, or an adjustable circle that, with a click, applies a convolution to its selected area.
I know this may raise concerns about "painting" the picture, but the need is real and not altering data, just artifacts.

Make a mask with RangeSelection to pick up the bright stars, clean up a little if needed, apply & blur (e.g Convolution, MMT to Chrominance if you only want to blur the colour.) No special tool needed :)
Cheers,
Rick.

Did just that with convolution through star mask, but not to just chrominance. Will try that...thanks
