How much is the Standard Edition of Pixinsight going to cost? Will it inlcude image registration?

Hello Corey,
The price of PixInsight Standard will be in the range of 200 to 250 Euros.
Of course there will be several image registration processes. In fact, we are finishing the first one right now, and you'll have the opportunity to test it very soon, because it will be available in the next beta release.
These are our plans regarding image registration:
An automatic image registration process specific to deep-sky images. This process detects stellar images (or, to be more precise, bright objects dimming in all directions) on a set of images, fits them to Gaussian functions, and then uses their calculated centroids to generate a pair-matching list by triangle similarity. Then the process uses that list to register the images by means of a least squares fit.
A semi-manual image registration process. With this process, the user can define an arbitrary set of registration points on any two images. When 1 or 2 points are defined, the images are registered by an affine transformation (shift only / shift+rotation). With 3 or more registration points, the process builds a two-dimensional surface spline, which permits image registration under arbitrary distortion. This process is what we are finishing now. It isn't automatic, but it's extremely accurate and versatile.
A Fourier-based image registration process. This process will be suitable for registration of a wide range of image types, including planetary. However this process won't be part of the standard set of processes that we'll include in the initial release.
