I have always been fascinated in all things “space related“ and can even remember watching the moon landing when I was very young. This naturally lead me into astronomy.

I built my first telescope when I was in my early twenties and spent many a happy year being a visual astronomer, but eventually I needed a new challenge and about 20 years ago CCD cameras started to become available to the amateur. This sounded like a good idea to me and I took the plunge into a world where I think I will be learning and upgrading forever. I am perhaps known to the amateur world for making some of the first video tutorials for PixInsight, particularly aimed at the newbie.

I am active in many astronomy forums and get many emails asking for help in using PixInsight and even get visitors to my house for one to one help, something I really enjoy doing.

Clear skies in the UK are not abundant, so if I can not be processing my own data it's good to help others. There is no doubt in my mind that I could not image from my light polluted town without Pixinsight. I am still enjoying astrophotography and hope to do so for many years to come all aided by PixInsight of course.
