Here's a 7.1hr LRGB of one of my favorite galaxies, M106, taken from a pretty dark site:

Thanks for looking.

I love the delicate aura (for want of a better word) surrounding the galaxy arms. Great shot of a pretty tough object.

Very mice image Jeff.

I notice the background has those faint light patches, for lack of better
vocabulary ^-^

I have the same on my images.
How can i correct this ?

Thanks on the image, Jean-
But good question on the blotches in the background and maybe an expert will answer.    I think they are associated with ACDNR, particularly at larger scales, and have tried to avoid them myself by doing as much noise reduction as possible with MMT in linear stage instead.  However, I did later use ACDNR here.  Once they're in the image, all I know how to do is darken the background a bit so they aren't as noticeable.  I just did that here but it is not a good solution.

Geoff:
You could try using Atrous wavelets for noise reduction to avoid the blotches.  Harry has a video here http://www.harrysastroshed.com/at%20noise.html
