Bloom Removal

Jack Harvey:
At some point a nice tool to remove the bloomed pixels and impute the appropriate pixels to repair bloomed stars is going to be a necessity?

vicent_peris:
Hi Jack,

with CAHA telescopes I make this by doing short exposures. You can make a blooming mask simply by selecting the completely saturated areas and some adjacent pixels. After that, I make an HDR composition with the short subs and put them over the blooms.

Vicent.

Juan Conejero:
Hi Jack,

Of course yes. I've been waiting for some smart developer to implement such a nice deblooming tool. Somebody dares do it?  >:D

Nocturnal:
Don't be looking at me! I'm not that smart :) Time for someone else to start writing some components :)

Jack Harvey:
I certainly cannot, but the ones I used you can set the level of pixel adu's above which are selected as blooms.  You delete these bloomed pixels and impute surrounding pixel values from the nearby background.
